Delhi, New: For calling YouTuber Dhruv Rathee a violent and abusive troll in the case of defamation filed against him by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mumbai unit spokesperson Suresh Karamshi Nakhua, Saket Court of Delhi has summoned Rathee and others.

Dhruv Rathee and social media intermediaries were served with a summons of suit and notice of application under 39 Rule 1 and 2 CPC for August 6, 2024 by District Judge Gunjan Gupta vide an order dated July 19, 2024. Mukesh Sharma along with Raghav Awasthi represented the plaintiff in the matter.

According to the lawsuit Dhruv Rathee published his video titled “My Reply to Godi Youtubers | Elvish Yadav | Dhruv Rathee” on YouTube channel on July 7, 2024. As at when this captioned case was commenced today’s count shows that this particular video has received almost 2.3 million likes and total views as many as approximately twenty four lakh eighteen thousand five hundred sixty nine which is increasing every minute.
Allegedly according to Suresh Karamshi Nakhua who initiated this case; Dhruv mentioned that Prime Minister Modi had hosted Ankit Jain, Suresh Nakhua and Tajinder Bagga who are violent and abusive trolls at his residential premises. Currently there are over two million three hundred thousand likes on it besides more than twenty four millions viewings while they continue growing up at good pace.
The lawsuit also argued that given that Plaintiff is one among several followers of Prime Minister Modi; it stands out clearly from the above mentioned video for no apparent reason accusing Plaintiff of violence mindedness thus making it capable of harming Plaintiff’s reputation among the members of the general public.
Dhruv Rathee viral video on digital media
Dhruv claimed some very daring and unsubstantiated allegations against the Plaintiff in a highly inflammatory and incendiary viral video that was posted on digital media. The fallacy of the video is disguised by its groundless assertion that Plaintiff engages in abusive and violent trolling.
In his aforementioned video, Dhruv Rathee made defamatory comments about the plaintiff, which have seriously tarnished his image. According to the suit, Dhruv Rathee falsely accused him which has resulted in wide spread criticism and ridicule for him thereby causing serious damage to both his personal as well as professional life.
Dhruv Rathee is a popular YouTuber who was summoned by a Delhi court on Wednesday over defamation complaint filed by BJP leader Suresh Karamshi Nakhua for which he claims Rs 20 lakhs.
As one of “violent and abusive trolls” mentioned in YouTube video titled “My Reply to Godi Youtubers, Elvish Yadav,” Nakhua described this occurrence in his defamation lawsuit he brought against Rathee.
The summons were issued by District Judge Gunjan Gupta against Dhruv Rathee, social media site X and Google in the defamation suit. On August 6th there will be hearing regarding this matter.

Rathee had allegedly invited “violent and abusive trolls like Ankit Jain, Suresh Nakhua, and Tajinder Bagga” at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence according to the law suit filed by BJP leader.
A news outlet called Live Law published an article about it. “The video has been watched over twenty-four million times with more than two point three million likes; numbers that continue to soar.”
YouTube false accusations- according to Nakhua- on YouTube have completely damaged his name forever.
The lawsuit contends, “That his audience that he uses to commit defamation which happens regularly, make online threats and ruin the career of another YouTuber comprises over 2.6 million followers on X platform and more than 23.3 million subscribers on YouTube.”
