Allegedly, states may create subcategories within SC and ST groups as per the Supreme Court judgment – “those who really need it should get priority in reservation.”

The judgment has sparked off intense debates; and according to sources, main purpose of India Bandh is to challenge or ask for revocation of supreme court’s verdict on reservation.

Many political and social organizations are expected to support this Bharat Bandh. This demonstration is aimed at highlighting that the judiciary made an unfair ruling.
