So except for Q1 which is largely comparable to last year, we are looking at a pretty strong volume growth this year,” Varun Berry, vice chairman and managing director at Britannia said during the post-earnings call on Monday. “I would think that post-election, post-monsoon we should be targeting towards a double digit volume growths for sure.”

“Instead of being deflationary our forecast for this year is slightly inflationary or around about three percent CAGR… Wheat seems like good crop.. Government has not been holding much so government buying will happen because they have initiatives… My view on wheat for the year is a little bit inflationary… Sugar crop this year has not been as good as last year but it’s not bad.. Therefore there will be some inflation coming in from sugar. In terms of commodities, we are doing whatever is required for us to get our targeted numbers,” Berry said.
The company expects commodity inflation to be between 3 percent and 4 percent after the elections in FY25. It also declared on Friday that it would keep an eye out for changes in geopolitical environment and commodity prices.
But other major packaged goods manufacturers have now gone into volume-led growth after two years of price-led growths.
